EL AMOR BRUJO (The Bewitched Love)

A modern adaptation of the classic 1915 ballet by Manuel de Falla. Inspired by Antonio Gades’ collaboration with Carlos Saura on Carmen, and the 2010 film by Darren Aronofsky, Black Swan. This show examines the company of dancers putting on a production of El Amor Brujo. Their tyrannical director is willing to go to any length to create his vision. The cast becomes bewitched through a series of tragic events, and the principal dancers find themselves falling into the same actions as their namesake roles.  Will the cast make it to open night?

PRODUCTION NOTES: The show is presented by Wildfire Players at Penguin Point Productions in the Oviedo Mall, directed by Gabriel Garcia and produced by James Brendlinger.

PARKING NOTE: When you arrive at the mall, watch for school buses in the parking lot. Park near the school buses and enter the mall under the blue canopy-covered walkway. Penguin Point will be the second store to your right when you enter this way. Be aware that some of the other mall exits are locked after 9pm, so if you’re coming to an evening show at Penguin Point it’s wise to park by this entrance.
