PENGUIN POINT PRODUCTIONS
A NOTE FROM PENGUIN POINT
From our founding documents: “Penguin Point Productions embraces diversity and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, gender expression, age, national origin, ancestry, disability, or sexual orientation in any of its activities or operations. Just wanted you to know that.”
We in the educational theater community see, hear, and feel the profound pain, grief, and anger, and the outpouring support against injustice, sweeping across our nation and around the world. Racism has no role to play on stage, backstage, or off stage in any school, community, or nation. Penguin Point Productions and its associated theater companies (Still Got It Players, Wildfire Players, The Ensemble Company, and The Young Company) speak out with communities of color against hate and prejudice wherever it appears. We care about the safety and well-being of people of color and the right to live free without racism and injustice. We see you. We respect you. We stand by you.
COVID-19 POLICY-- UPDATED JUNE 25, 2020
Penguin Point Productions is re-opening in stages, following guidance from the City of Oviedo, the State of Florida, and the Centers for Disease Control. We take the safety of our staff, students, artists, and guests very seriously.
Our entire facility is sanitized multiple times daily using a peroxide fogger, in addition to our regular high standards of cleanliness.
Until further notice, everyone entering Penguin Point has their temperature recorded by an infrared touchless thermometer. Anyone registering a temperature of 100f or higher may not enter.
Our Costume Shop is open following Oviedo Mall’s directives for retailers. Wearing masks is encouraged, social distancing required, and as always we provide a clean facility with several hand sanitizing stations.
Group meetings for all ages, and camps/classes for Grades K-5, are limited to 10 people until further notice.
Performances in our theater will be presented with strict adherence to city and state guidelines for occupancy and social distancing. The mall’s 8000 square foot Community Room is also available for our use if needed to meet these requirements. Audience size is currently limited to 33% of our permitted occupancy. Audience members are expected to wear masks. Extra masks are on sale at our ticket stand.
Cast members are divided into multiple dressing areas backstage for their safety. Crew members are strongly encouraged to wear masks and practice social distancing.
We look forward to a safe summer celebrating the performing arts at Oviedo Mall.
